Safety-Kleen is looking for a Corporate Construction Manager to join our safety conscious team!This individual will provide overall administrative management, technical management, and coordination of project activities in order to ensure conformance with project objectives. Will have profit and loss responsibility for construction projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
    • Provides site support at Construction projects at various Clean Harbors locations within USA.
    • Provides expertise with planning, budgeting, qualifying vendors, obtaining bids and managing construction quality and scheduling for assigned projects.
    • Assists Dept and location stakeholders in permitting for local construction projects.
    • Supports and provides expertise in other areas which may be assigned by manager.
    • Manages assigned personnel on a project when needed.
    • May manage hiring and HR support functions/ timesheets for assigned direct personnel.
    • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.
    • Identify key construction and design components through on-site audits with design and sales teams.
    • Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.
    • Investigate damage, accidents or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
    • Must be able to produce project plans and project updates and present them to senior management.
    • Coordinates resource availability and operational needs to ensure achievement of established project goals.
    • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients representing the owner or developer.
    • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Minimum 10 years experience in construction management.
      • High School plus either construction supervisors license or relevant trade training and certifications in a construction related trade either through post-secondary education, apprentice training or certificate courses. Degree a plus but not required.
      • Broad career experience in site work, foundations, steel erection, welding, mechanical /piping/ HVAC desired.
      • Ability to read Blueprints and provide detailed directions to various tradesman.
      • Ability to create design sketches for fabrication activities desirable.
      • Proficient in Microsoft suite software including MS projects.
      • Ability to communicate well with workforce, subcontractors and Company Management on progress reporting and budgeting.
      • Ability to travel 25%.
