We care about families and do what it takes to help them succeed like investing in our Puente del Pueblo ministry (now the largest social services provider in West Chicago) and care groups.Open PositionsPosition: Director of Technical ProductionLocation: West Chicago, ILJob Id: 362# of Openings: 1Title: Production DirectorBenefits: All full-time positions are eligible for our full benefit package which includes: Medical and Dental insurance; PTO, sick time, holidays, 403B with up to 7% match; Life Insurance and Long-term disability.Purpose: The purpose of the Director of Production is to 1) oversee all aspects of technically producing Wheaton Bible Church weekend services, conferences, and other events on the West Chicago campus, and other off-site locations and 2) build and lead our creative team of production staff, contract/freelancers, and production partners (volunteers) in the development, direction, and processes that result in excellent and relevant services and creative initiatives that are aligned with Wheaton Bible's mission and vision.Reports to: Creative DirectorSupervises: Technical Directors, Production staff, contract/freelancers, Production Partners (volunteers)Collaborates closely with: Worship Arts teams, Lead Producer, and Communication TeamResponsibilities:

  • Work closely with Creative Director in the development and execution of creative content for Sunday Services, Special Events, and other initiatives that help further WBC's mission and vision.
  • Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of production needs for weekend services and online streaming with the goal of making them welcoming, effective, and consistently excellent within our mission and vision.
  • Establish and direct the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the Production department.
  • Lead, direct and equip the Wheaton Bible Church production teams.
  • Supervise, coach and develop direct reports.
  • Oversee all aspects of production volunteers, including setting strategy, recruitment, retention, training, scheduling, ministry relations, leadership development (Leadership Pipeline), appreciation, social events, and database management.
  • Oversee technical production team in troubleshooting and management for all A/V/L systems including updating and maintaining equipment, loading and programming content for services and events. Develop Scenic teams and capabilities to enhance visual stage art across all congregations, services, and events. This includes stage design, scenic design and build, and scenic transitions.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in technology and design for use in ministry.
  • Work with creative teams to maximize key Sundays, (Christmas, Holy Week, CareFest, Missions Fest, Big 8, and other "ALL Church" special events.
  • Evaluate needs and provide A/V/L technological guidance within the organization.
  • Consult with WBC leadership, department directors, and manufacturing representatives to exchange information, present new approaches and discuss equipment/system changes.
  • Participate in vendor contract negotiations and purchases for all AVL equipment and services.
  • Propose hardware/software solutions to accomplish the church's ministry objectives.
  • Coordinate the installation of A/V/L systems. Create, maintain, update system(s) documentation including diagrams, signal flow schematics, operational instructions.
  • Create and maintain annual Production budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.Core Competencies:

      • Bachelor's degree in related field, Master's degree preferred.
      • Five plus years of experience managing a technical production team; understands the intricacies of a ministry environment.
      • Passion for helping people encounter Christ in corporate worship through the use of technology.
      • Strong and creative leadership and management skills with a proven track record of leading and developing people and recruiting and developing volunteers.
      • Ability to work well with others, cultivate a team-building atmosphere, and nurture relationships with co-workers and volunteers.
      • Strong relational skills, flexibility, and a servant heart.
      • High-capacity, multi-tasking individual who is comfortable working independently; highly self-motivated and self-directed.
      • Ability to maintain a high level of organization and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously; ability to troubleshoot and to create and manage change.
      • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekend events as needed.
      • Ability to stand, crouch and or squat for an entire shift. Must be able to lift 70 lbs and work from heights of 40 feet.
