Job SummaryAdvocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled CT
Technologist to join our team in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. As a CT
Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT equipment to
perform diagnostic procedures, obtaining medical history from
patients, and preparing and administering contrast media under the
direction of a Radiologist.Key Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate
diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head,
chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity
scans.
- Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions
to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
- Position patients and select proper scanning factors, adjust
factors to attain the appropriate images, and provide radiation
protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of
the Radiologist, and assist in the proper scanning techniques.
- Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and
label images, including patient name, medical record unit (MRU)
number, and location or position of scan on all images.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various
regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into
the radiology information system, and document billing codes of
procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment
quality assurance tests and calibration procedures, reporting
malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.Requirements
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6
months.Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic
Technology.
- Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by
facility).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service
skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other
staff members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Intermediate computer skills.Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and
reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up
to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable
distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a
sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and
radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore,
personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
