At Sevan, we provide the talent, technology, and trusted expertise needed to consistently deliver excellence in multi-site construction.The Senior Civil Design Engineer is a member of our Civil Engineering design team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide engineering services to Sevan's clients. A design professional, accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for multi-site construction projects and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares complete, accurate and code compliant construction documents.
• Provides technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
• Perform civil engineering design calculations and prepare engineering reports.
• Responsible for determining the appropriate site features and their design application.
• Responsible for maintaining project schedules, deadlines, and commitments for all projects.
• Coordinates work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
• Notifies supervisor of changes in project scope and advises if a change order proposal is needed.
• Possesses a working knowledge of engineering and building codes and ADA requirements.
• Conducts project due diligence with municipalities to determine local zoning, engineering, and building code requirements.
• Accountable for resolving plan review comments from code officials.
• Project liaison to code officials, outside consultants, suppliers, and contractors regarding questions to the construction documents.
• Oversees staff engineers, designers and/or CAD technicians.
• Complete technical applications and secure permits.
• Eligible for Designer of Record signing and sealing responsibilities, based on business need.
• Works with supervisor and peers to pursue professional development.
• Participates in the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
• Participates in NCEES with the ability to be licensed in multiple states.
• Engages in personal and professional growth opportunities within Sevan.
• Accountable for timely completion of assigned projects.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision on complex and large scope projects.
• Represent the company at client project meetings. Visits project sites to verify scope, existing conditions and other related activities.
• Make public presentations as project representatives and owner's representatives.
• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
  • PE license required.
  • A Professional Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience of multi-site projects in the small-site commercial industries preferred (retail, restaurant, fuel, car wash, grocery, etc.)Skills and Abilities:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and advanced techniques.
    • Expertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials.
    • Capable to complete complicated and difficult engineering assignments on large, complex projects with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to execute and coordinate multiple projects at a time.
