Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance
Supervisor to lead and manage all maintenance operations on the 3rd
shift at their Ripon, WI facilities. This role is crucial in
executing the maintenance process, establishing a reliability
focus, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The
Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership, first-line
supervision, technical assistance, and training to a team of
industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians. This
position is responsible for meeting unit goals and objectives,
supervising assigned personnel, and overseeing day-to-day
activities on their assigned shift. Duties are carried out with
considerable independence within the established policies,
procedures, and guidelines, and work is reviewed through inspection
and analysis of records, reports, completed work orders, and
equipment performance.
Shift: This is a 3rd shift position (Sunday through Thursday, 10 PM
- 6 AM).
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Compliance:
Create and promote a safety culture by applying and implementing
workplace safety policies.
Team Leadership:
Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members,
union, and management teams.
Provide leadership and direction to maintenance technicians,
ensuring that completed work orders with actual hours and
completion comments are submitted daily.
Performance Management:
Track, analyze, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such
as safety, asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, and
schedule compliance.
Evaluate team member performance and encourage continuous
improvement.
Maintenance Operations:
Assist in scoping corrective work orders as needed with the
Maintenance Planners.
Manage and develop weekly schedules for shift technicians and
prioritize emergency jobs as they arise.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree in Engineering, Electro-Mechanical, or Business
Management is desirable, although significant experience and
special training may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled
position.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or
Team Leader.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facilities equipment, with
the ability to fluently read and understand prints in all
areas.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the functionality of
equipment (e.g., stamping, automated fabrication, machining, paint
process).
Excellent organizational, leadership, teaming, and communication
skills (both written and verbal).
Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office products.
Ability to work on several assignments simultaneously and
effectively.
Special Qualifications:
Ability to supervise a diverse team and direct a technical
workforce to maintain the facility in a safe, clean, and orderly
manner.
Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and drive new ideas,
adapting to evolving technology.
Core Competencies:
Communication, management, human resource development, facility
upkeep, and maintenance.
Strong administrative and organizational skills to ensure seamless
completion of all maintenance activities.
Accountability for upholding the organization's standards and
safety.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods, manual dexterity,
and lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must-Have:
Associate degree in Engineering, Electro-Mechanical, or Business
Management (or equivalent experience).
5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled position.
2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Team
Leader.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facilities equipment, with
proficiency in reading and understanding prints in all areas.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment
functionality (stamping, automated fabrication, machining, paint
process).
