Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and driven Plant
Manager to lead and oversee daily operations at our food production
facility. This role is critical to ensuring production goals are
met through efficient scheduling and optimizing machine
performance. It also focuses on minimizing waste to enhance overall
operational efficiency. The Plant Manager is responsible for
maintaining a safe work environment, managing a team of managers,
supervisors, and production line workers, and ensuring compliance
with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will develop
improvement strategies, monitor productivity goals, and foster a
culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
o Plan, direct, and coordinate daily production activities to meet
company objectives.
o Oversee production schedules, ensuring alignment with
productivity and efficiency goals.
o Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to
optimize performance.
o Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure
operational success.
2. Mentorship and Team Management:
o Lead a mentoring program for management staff to develop
leadership capabilities.
o Manage and oversee the work of managers, supervisors, and
production line staff.
o Foster effective communication and collaboration across
departments.
o Provide direction and focus to team members, addressing
grievances and evaluating performance.
3. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain training
programs for all departments.
o Perform routine safety walkthroughs to identify areas of
improvement.
o Oversee adherence to quality and food safety standards, promoting
a safe and compliant work environment.
4. Policy and Process Improvement:
o Establish, implement, and enhance departmental policies, goals,
objectives, and procedures.
o Regularly review recoveries and advise on equipment schedules to
optimize usage.
o Develop systems and processes that track and optimize
productivity while maintaining lean manufacturing practices.
5. Financial Management:
o Develop and manage budgets for the plant, ensuring
cost-effectiveness and alignment with company goals.
o Monitor expenses and implement strategies to control costs
without compromising quality.
o Collect and analyze data to identify areas of waste and
overtime.
6. Strategic Alignment and Reporting:
o Implement strategies in alignment with company's strategic
initiatives.
o Create reports to present to executives regarding processes and
productivity.
o Monitor operations and drive corrective actions as needed.
7. Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
o Maintain open communication with department heads on staffing,
safety, food quality/safety, and inventory needs.
o Monitor production activities to ensure alignment with company
standards and goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in a food production environment.
- Previous management or leadership experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed to meet operational
demands.
- Demonstrated reliability and accountability.
Physical and Technical Abilities:
- Ability to walk throughout the plant and climb ladders or step
stools as needed.
- Capability to lift 30-40 pounds as required.
- Proficiency in delegating and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to assess and
resolve operational challenges.
- Ability to visually inspect products and work performance for
quality assurance.
- Fluent communication skills in English.
This role also involves handling responsibilities as Safety
Manager, managing PSM (Process Safety Management) tasks, and
overseeing project management for the facility. It is an excellent
