Position: Sales EngineerLocation: Remotely, preferably located in the Greater Chicago Area. Candidates must be available for frequent travel across the US as well as periodic travel to German HQ, including an initial onboarding period of approx. two weeks in Germany.Our client is a leading innovator in the packaging industry, renowned for its advanced digital heating systems. These systems are flexibly programmable, monitorable, and adaptable to a wide range of shapes and materials, making them suitable for various sectors, including mobility, chemicals, biotech, and consumer goods production. Clients benefit from increased efficiency, reduced waste, and faster machine operation, allowing them to maximize their existing equipment.The company is expanding its presence in the US and is seeking a Sales Engineer to drive growth through the management of key accounts, acquisition of new clients, and development of strategic initiatives to enhance the company's market presence. Currently focused on the packaging industry, the company aims to broaden its market reach in the future. The ideal candidate will excel in customer engagement and business development, with a strong understanding of technical principles to effectively communicate with customers, including but not limited to packaging engineers. This role offers substantial potential for career advancement, with future opportunities to progress into higher positions based on business planning and growth.Responsibilities:

• Initiate contact with target customers, implement lead generation strategies, and build essential connections within the packaging sector, with a focus on expanding into additional markets.
• Prospect and qualify sales leads through direct outreach, participation in trade shows, and other industry events. Respond to RFPs/RFQs from current key accounts that align with the company's technology.
• Use solution-based selling techniques to effectively demonstrate the value of their full product portfolio.
• Work synergistically with the teams sales representatives to nurture and expand client relationships, identifying and pursuing growth opportunities.
• Facilitate communication between US-based customers and the project management teams at the German HQ, assisting in the preparation of customized offers and proposals.Requirements:
  • Proven success in consultative technical sales, ideally with experience in the packaging industry, capital goods, machinery, or industrial equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, sales, business administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to effectively sell complex products that require detailed technical explanations and solutions.
  • Background in the packaging sector is preferred, with an existing network being a significant asset.
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills, with a hands-on approach and well-organized work habits.
