Job Description:
We are looking for a quality engineer to monitor and improve the
quality of both our internal operations and key strategic partners.
The quality engineer is an individual contributor who will work
cross-functionally with operations, engineering, customers, and
suppliers. The quality engineer's responsibilities include
designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment,
processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and
determining corrective actions. You will also work with managers
and supervisors to implement quality measures. A successful quality
engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able
to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established
quality standards.In addition to internal responsibilities, the
Quality Engineer works with suppliers to manage and improve their
processes, drive operational excellence in supply chain operations,
and participate in continuous improvement programs. In this role,
you will work for the Quality Manager to manage the return of
defective parts and work with suppliers on corrective actions. You
will visit key suppliers to review the quality factors of their
performance, promote successful resolution, and manage the
continuous improvement activities between DDI and the suppliers.
You will monitor the quality performance of suppliers and report
quality metrics to DDI management. Finally, you will ensure that
suppliers meet our industry-specific processes, standards, and
objectives for material and process management, on-time delivery
and out-of-box quality.Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing quality standards.
- Developing and implementing quality control systems.
- Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
- Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and
products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement
controls and improvements.
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with
safety regulations.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production
issues.
- Developing corrective actions, solutions, and
improvements.
- Defining and monitoring supplier performance metrics.
- Evaluating and reporting on supplier performance.
- Identifying risks associated with the selected supplier
base.
- Participating in cost reduction efforts.
- Creating presentations and process flow charts to support
continuous process improvement programs.
- Working with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex
problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry
trends.Attributes:

handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Experience and
Skills:
- Minimum Experience: 10+ years of experience in a Quality
Engineering role within high tech.
- Proficiency in statistical tools is a mandatory requirement;
Minitab, WinSCP, JMP.
- Significant experience driving quality improvements both
internally and at suppliers.
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers is a plus.
- Direct experience in the Semi industry is a plus.
- ASQ certification is preferred.
- Value Stream Mapping skills are preferred. Proficiency in Visio
is a plus.
- Proficient in 8D reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and leading a cross-functional
team to a solution.
- Proficient in performing SPC, capability studies, running
charts, and Gage R&R.
- Proficient in qualifying assembly and test processes.Education:
- Minimum Education: Technical Degree (STEM) is a mandatory
requirement.
- Preferred Education: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree
